I've done it again...!

I was on such a roll with this thing, too...!

Anyway, last few minutes here at work for a WEEK. YES. VACATION!!! It's been surprisingly busy the last couple of days, but it's all because EVERYONE ELSE likes to push through stuff they've been putting off and then WE get stuck with it. :P

Oh well, it's all done!!!

Top Chef:

I liked Spike this season (during his season I couldn't stand him...he seems like he's grown up a LOT) but out of the 3 possible people going home, I was the least upset about him.

I think it was totally unfair that Jamie managed to sneak her way into staying another week, but those were the rules. I wish someone would have put their foot down and screamed "JAMIE!!!!!" when they were asking who was going to serve first and then should have HAD to serve and probably gone home. Eh, thems the breaks...I'm sure she'll get hers, eventually!

Fabio was hilarious, love him. Also here's a long overdue mention of how much I love Richard!!! He's great.

This episode was a lot of fun but I was busy running around packing/cleaning/washing dishes through a lot of it so I missed little bits here and there. I'll watch the rerun next week. :)

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve!!!!! I'm less excited about food and presents--I'm actually really only looking forward to getting drunk. XDDDD I know, I know, terrible, but I CAN'T WAIT LOL.

Though I am really excited to give out the gifts I got. :)

Less than 10 days, WOO!

...til Christmas, that is. ;)

First, though, I have to comment on my ridiculous amount of coordination this fine day. Black tank top with a white tshirt over it, with my purple explosion sweater over that, black Converse, purple, black and silver nail polish (from a few days ago) and my earbuds are purple. I really did not plan this....also I swear I'm not 12 years old.

Yesterday was fun. Weird at times, but fun. For lunch Big Boss M took all of us planners to Lombardi's and it was DELICIOUS. Being a New Yorker, I'm always skeptical of "THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA EVERRRRR" claims, but I have to say...I finally believe it. This was probably the best pizza I've ever had. And it's allegedly the first pizzeria in America, which is neat. XD

Then I got a package from one of our vendors (in Wisconsin) of roughly 2 pounds of cheese/cheese spread/sausage/chocolate LOL. I am insanely excited to eat the cheddar, omg. I gave K and Boss M the gouda since, while I love pretty much any and all cheeses, it's one I could live without trying. XD NOT THE CHEDDAR THOUGH OH NO.

After work J and I decided to go to the mall. Of course I assumed he suggested it so we could get more shopping (MOST of the remaining shopping!) done, but of course it was because he had a JCPenney's coupon. Men. Anyway, we managed to accomplish both--I finished mom, got brother's GF, and J got himself winter boots and a hat. When we got back I did some wrapping (RAN OUT OF PAPER. FAIL.) and then Top Chef was on!!!!

Top Chef:

Sad to see Happy Dale go, but Stephen was annoying from the get-go, so glad he's gone. Fabio needs to pick it up!!!! I don't think he's going to make it much further. :( But at least my crush on him is pretty much gone and I just enjoy him, whereas my crush on Angelo will not go away and it looks like he might be a contender. XD Other than that, the episode was lackluster in terms of dramaaaz but the challenge itself was one of the most interesting they've ever done. I think they did a terrific job of picking celeb chefs of such distinct styles that it made it both easy to see their points of view but also a challenge to try and emulate it. Very cool.

Tonight SHOULD BE Fringe, but of course its on hiatus until the end of January (when it's moving to Friday night...FAIL ALL AROUND), so I imagine we can watch last week's Supernatural instead. Woo.

When we went to B&N on Sunday I picked up another Supernatural novel and, while it's fun and everything, it's weird to be reading something that takes place during season 5 after everything that's been going on currently in season 6. Though obviously season 5 was better than season 6 (so far) so I'm not really complaining about being thrown back into the hunt for Lucifer. ;)

Updates...

I said I would update about RL stuff when I had the time, and I figured it would be over the weekend, but, of course, that didn't work out. XD

We went out Friday night because H was in town (back in the States for a week or so but last Friday was the first time we'd been able to see her!) and it was a ton of fun. DH was all decked out in Christmas finery (...lol, finery at the DH, hilarious idea) and we drank until Tony kicked us out at 4 and then went to Big Nick's for post-drunken grease. J was staying with Jon in Harlem that night to be able to work on art stuff the next day, so I was the only one heading downtown and ended up getting home at 6 because the trains are considerably slower at 5AM (shocker!) and there was no way I was going to take a cab all by myself. It was a good night, though, so I really didn't mind. ;)

Saturday we had planned to take the train out to my parents' so we could pick up the truck (all nicely repaired--HOORAY FOR WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND A DOOR THAT CLOSES PROPERLY!!!) and somehow managed to not be hindered by hangovers and got out there around 4:30. The original plan was to just grab the truck and go so that we could go check out the Rock tree and store windows that night, but we were both tired and hungry so we went to eat with mom & dad and R&A joined us as a bonus. It was fun and we can always do the tree/windows this weekend. We drove back on Northern instead of taking the parkways because J didn't want to deal with merging/changing lanes and all that annoying stuff and it ended up working out because we stopped at Macy's and managed to pick up some more gifts. All in all a hilariously productive day for getting home at 6 in the morning, lol.

Sunday was mostly lazy but we did get out to B&N in Forest Hills in the afternoon. Originally we were just going to go to get out of the house for a bit & grab coffee/browse, but there were gifts I needed to pick up so that was accomplished, as well!

Definitely a good weekend. ;)

Yesterday started out awful because I got a migraine while getting ready for work, but it ended up being fine because it was slow at work and meant I could wallow in my pain mostly unmolested. Its not much better today but I've really gotten to the point where I am so used to the pain of a migraine that it's annoying but not unbearable anymore. This is really a good thing because being sidelined for a day or more is so annoying that if I am able to say SCREW YOU to the migraines, then all the better.

This afternoon I have a doctor's appointment but after that hopefully we can watch the latest Supernatural episode since they're usually up on the CW website by Tuesdays. JOY.

TV roundup.

Top Chef:

Shocking elimination of Jen Carroll! Though to be honest, based on her last few challenges during her season, it seemed like her lackluster performance this season was in line with what she was producing the last time I saw her. Though, of course, I know that what happens on the show isn't a true measure of how good a chef is, so still suprised that she got the ax because I do believe she's a VERY good chef. I do NOT agree with J that her arguing with the judges had any impact on her elimination. I've read their blogs and their various interviews and, however naive it may make me, I believe the judges when they say they judge solely on the food produced and discuss the nuances for hours to come to a decision.

ANYWAY. Fabio is still awesome, I still have an inexplicable crush on Angelo that I seriously cannot explain, still have too many favorites to narrow it down, and am still very excited to be watching this season.

Fringe:

I will fully admit that the "monster of the week" could not have interested me less this week and that I was completely focused on how the revelation that Peter was involved with Alt-Olivia was going to play out between him and Olivia. I think it was really well done--very honest, very real, VERY SAD :'(. I also think that Anna Torv did an amazing job of portraying the familiar "intense" (AHHH PETER SO MEAN BUT NOT REALLY!) Olivia but with that horrible vulnerability and complete undoing of trust that occurred as a result of her time in the Alt-verse (and Peter's shocking confession.) So kudos to her. :)

Still really mad that Fringe is getting the Friday timeslot of death (WHY?? Everyone seems to love it!) and still really mad that I have to wait til the end of January to see it again. Grrr.

Various other RL stuff going on, but nothing that can't be reported on after the fact, AKA tomorrow when I have more time. ;)

I am terrible at this.

Yeah, I really am terrible at this. I don't know what inertia keeps me from sitting down for a few minutes to compose a (totally admittedly poorly-composed) entry!!!!!!!! I mean, really, its not like I'm sitting down to write the Next Great American Novel. (Though, obv, that would be awesome.)

Anyway Webcrafters sent us a holiday giftbasket and, since they are based in Wisconson, there was WISCONSON CHEDDAR CHEESE involved, AKA only my most favorite cheese EVER. It is extremely hard to not keep getting up and chowing down continually and look like a huge lardo. I'm seriously contemplating going to get M&Ms from the vending machine to keep myself from eating more cheese. How hilariously nonsensical is that?!?

Not much going on other than work and the usual, though the holiday party was last Friday and then the department holiday breakfast was yesterday. Both were fun and full of free things and at the breakfast I totally won an extra 1/2 day off, hahaha. Win.

I'm well into Christmas shopping which both feels good and awful. Good because YAY SHOPPING FOR GIFTS! and feeling awesome when I get things, but also awful because it always feels like I've got SO MUCH more to get and a) not enough time, b) not enough ideas and c) not enough money, lol. I'm not fretting too much, though, because I know it will always work itself out and be great. :)

Tonight is TOP CHEF: ALL STARS (the capslock indicates excitement) and also we're gonna watch the latest episode of Supernatural (it finally appeared on the CW website). Awesome.
